Thinking about the warm sunshine and fresh air of spring makes people want to try new beauty trends this spring. Makeup artist Raisa Flowers has explored the best eye and lip trends for spring to show you the limitless makeup possibilities. Flowers says: “Makeup is for fun. Makeup is just a way to express yourself. To me, makeup is just the ability to enhance someone’s beauty in a different way. Watercolors, neon lights and makeup are really great for any look.”

Makeup is not only the best accessory for spring outfits but also hairstyles – no matter how short or long your hair is. Hairstylist Guido Palau says: “Hair is now so rich. This is the time when everyone can go out with their favorite hair. They don’t have to spend hours combing their hair and thinking about the right hairstyles.”
Why not explore the hairstyle created by hairstylist Rubi Aguilar Jones? She styled the hair of models Bibi, Lua, Gabrielle and Kanta for the photo shoot with classic lines and dreamy makeup.
Glossy makeup and combed hair
Make up:
As you focus on colorful eyeshadow palettes, remember that you don’t have to just use a splash of color for your eyes. You can mix as many colors as you like to turn eyeshadow boxes into glossy watercolor masterpieces. That’s what the makeup artists did before the models walked the runway at the Angel Chen and Jason Wu Collection.
Some recent celebrities are also fans of this makeup look. So Flowers used this makeup look for the models. “I took each color and applied it to the skin to make it appear more intense because the lighter you go, the longer it takes to create that color,” she explains.
To ensure the brightest color possible, Flowers used that color to apply evenly on Bibi’s eyelids. Then Flowers hit the shadows with a stiff brush. “Once you blend, the shadow spreads,” she explains. Which I don’t want the shadow to cast all over the face. Therefore, there is no need for blending skills.”
Flowers wanted shadows to be reflected on each eye to create cohesion. “Sometimes when you put too much color on your eyes, you will feel confused and your eyes will sink,” she says. Also, keep in mind that you don’t need to use a lot of colors either, just 2-3 colors are best.” To keep your makeup from getting messy, Flowers suggests balancing your colorful eyes with nude lipstick and a light blush that compliments your skin tone.

Hair:
Hairstylist Vernon Francois says styles inspired by refurbished vintage hairstyles are all the rage right now. He listed an example: “The hairstyles that I created for Lupita Nyong’o at the 2020 SAG Awards are a popular 40s Hollywood hairstyle.”
To create a modern version of the classic look, Jones carefully chose Bibi’s hair. Then she created it in an inverted shape by wrapping it in a mesh scarf. In doing so, she sprayed Bibi’s hair with glue to keep it in place. If you plan on letting your hair down, Jones recommends cutting your hair shorter at the nape of your neck and longer around the crown. It is a good way to stimulate hair growth if you want long hair.
Upper and lower false eyelashes
False lashes are often the final touch of makeup. On those days when you’re rushing out the door for an event, consider skipping the liner and gloss for a Gucci fringe look – just glue. You only need two pairs of lashes: one upper and one lower.
For Flowers, she first glued the false eyelashes along the base of the lashes. The false lashes underneath make this look unique, and Flowers recommends false lashes for any occasion. “If you want to accentuate your face, I’d say lower lashes are a good choice,” she says.
Instead of gluing false lashes along the bottom lash line, Flowers glues them slightly below to avoid irritating the lash line. This paste will make the eyes look bigger. For Lua’s lips, Flowers applied concealer before applying lip balm.

Eye makeup and curly hair
Make up:
The multicolored sparkles of the dance floor at the House of Holland inspired Flowers’ gorgeous platinum eyes. For Gabrielle’s eye shadow, Flowers used five different products to achieve a unique platinum color.
To amplify the sparkle, combine a blue glitter and a 3D shade on top of the eye to make it look steamy and like there’s a layer of shadow on it. And if you want, you can use symmetrically arranged Swarovski crystals on each side to make your eyes sparkle.
Instead of contouring Gabrielle’s cheeks with a classic sculpted shade, Flowers used a rich peachy pink and dabbed over Gabrielle’s cheekbones forward. Flowers explains: “When you’re doing glitter eyes like this, it’s important to make sure your face has a certain depth to it.” For Gabrielle’s lips, Flowers used a dark brown pencil to fill them in before applying a creamy lipstick.

Hair:
The bangs and curls may seem like a difficult duo to create to match the face, but when done and styled with the right steps, they are a great power couple. Since curls tend to grow day by day, ask your barber to cut your bangs in a triangle about 1cm or 1.5cm longer than the back hair.
After shampooing, the habit of using the product will have an effect on the hair. Jones recommends applying oils, creams, and gels to the rest of your hair first. Then, gently massage the roof with your hands. For the days when you don’t wash your hair, use hairspray to care for your curls. Jones said just spraying on the hair roots is the hair is back in place.
Modern Mullet and Neon Lips
Hair:
What sets the mullet hairstyles of 2020 apart from the signature styles of David Bowie and Billy Ray Cyrus is the bangs. The front section of your hair – from the ears to the front – is cut short with multiple layers forming separate layers. However, the layers are combined with the longer hair, so the distinction between the sections at the back and the front is less complicated than in the previous mullet hairstyle.
Wavy hair is the cut that suits you best and will help accentuate your face. While a monthly trim will keep your hair looking better, you may not need to cut it, instead, brushing it back. This way, the hair will be more bouncy.

Make up:
Neon makeup trends don’t have to be focused on the eyes. You can also do lip makeup. Flowers creates a bright color by applying a deep pink lipstick in the center to create depth and boldness. Then she added orange around the outer edge of the lips.
However, you don’t have to do this whole process to get neon red lips. Flowers did so to add depth to the lips. To balance the rest of your face with the brightness and shine of your lips, Flowers recommends applying bronzer if you have a lighter skin tone or contouring if you have a deeper complexion. Other suggested additions: primer and highlighter on the cheekbones and inner corner of the eye.
Purple hair braid
Braids are quite complicated. You just need to be patient and you will find it easier to braid your hair. Jones created a top half bottom half trend following a trend that appeared at both the spring and fall/winter 2020 shows. To start, Jones smoothed Kanta’s back hair with an oil like Hair Oil. Versatile for shine before gathering hair on the crown from behind the ears up into a ponytail. This part, as well as the bottom one, is divided into two braids.
Next, she twisted both top braids to the right and braided them together by rolling them to the left. To keep the braids shiny and from flying out, Jones coated the braids with hairspray before twisting them back.
Then she secures the ends to the braids underneath them. Before twisting the sections, Jones secures the fabric to each section and incorporates it into the twists for a subtle twist.

Draw eyes with neon blue
Daily use of lip or eye liner is part of the routine for many people. “I like to use pencil to draw in the clear eyes because it makes the eyes look super dramatic,” says Flowers.
Classic strokes for this look are drawn with an ultra-fine liner brush. Next, Flowers brought the line inward along the lash line about 3/4. Then she traced the line and painted neon green on top of the line. It’s easy, isn’t it?

Pearl hair and blue lips
Hair:
Pearls are the most precious gemstone in 2020. Not only pearls appear in your hair, but you will also find them on your face and nails. Jones created small braids around the roots using thin hair ties and gels. Then Jones split each side in half with a comb. For the back section, Jones applied a styling conditioner to add shine and moisture to the hair. Jones applied pearls to her hair to make the hair more noble.

Make up:
People may not like black lipstick, but Flowers believes that in the future, people will wear black lipstick instead of red. One easy way to apply black lipstick for spring is to apply a layer of shimmery lip gloss on top of a matte liquid lipstick. Liquid lipstick is better when you use lip gloss because it won’t wash off.
Combined with black lipstick, it makes the lips magical. It looks like you have the universe on your lips. If black lipstick doesn’t suit you, perhaps a bold plum color will. Pair it with the same blue lip gloss or a shimmery pink shade.
